NFL Trade Deadline Approaches: Key Players on the Move
Baltimore, MD — As the NFL trade deadline nears on Nov. 4, the league is buzzing with potential moves. Seven trades have already happened this season, spurring speculation about which players might change teams.
Last season saw 18 trades, with eight occurring on deadline day. This year, teams with playoff aspirations are looking to strengthen their rosters, while struggling teams are seeking to offload talent in exchange for future building blocks.
The Baltimore Ravens are one team in turmoil, sitting at 1-5 as they approach their bye week. The team has begun trading away players for cap space, including pass-rusher Odafe Oweh. Tight end Mark Andrews, whose contract is expiring, could be on the move as Isaiah Likely returns from injury, providing depth at the position.
The Miami Dolphins are also in the mix, with multiple teams expressing interest in pass rusher Bradley Chubb, who has shown promise in recovering from a torn ACL with four sacks in six games this season.
Another sought-after player is linebacker Demario Davis of the New Orleans Saints. Despite the Saints rebuilding, Davis, who ranks 12th in the league with 51 tackles, could fit well with playoff-bound teams like the San Francisco 49ers, who are coping with injuries.
The Cincinnati Bengals might consider trading defensive end Trey Hendrickson, especially with Joe Flacco now leading the charge for their playoff hopes. Hendrickson has four sacks in six games, making him a valuable asset.
Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is another name to watch as he might change teams again after moving from Tennessee to Kansas City last season, contributing to the Chiefs’ Super Bowl run.
Meanwhile, Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku might be vulnerable as rookie Harold Fannin Jr. works into the mix, making Njoku possibly expendable to teams needing pass-catching help.
As the deadline nears, several teams will look to make strategic moves that may define their playoff paths, and the landscape of the NFL is set to shift dramatically.
