LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Nicolas Cage, 61, was spotted on set Monday filming his new series, reprising his role as Spider-Man Noir. The Oscar-winning actor donned a gray three-piece suit while shooting scenes in downtown Los Angeles for the upcoming MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video production.

The series, set in 1930s New York, follows an aging private investigator (played by Cage) who must confront his past as the city’s former superhero. This marks Cage’s second portrayal of the character, having previously voiced Spider-Man Noir in the 2018 animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

“The show explores the darker, grittier side of the superhero genre,” a production insider revealed. “It’s a character-driven story that blends noir elements with superhero mythology.”

MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video have already greenlit the series, though additional casting details remain under wraps. The project represents a significant expansion of the Spider-Man universe, delving into a lesser-known but fan-favorite character from Marvel Comics.

Cage’s return to the role comes as part of a resurgence in his career, following acclaimed performances in recent independent films. The series is expected to premiere in late 2025, with production scheduled to continue through spring.
