Nicole Young’s ‘Selling Sunset’ Future in Limbo Amid Cast Feuds
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Nicole Young‘s future on Netflix‘s hit reality series *Selling Sunset* remains uncertain after production paused her filming schedule amid escalating tensions with costar Chrishell Stause and other cast members. The 39-year-old real estate agent confirmed the hiatus in a statement to *Us Weekly* on Thursday, January 23, 2025, revealing that the decision was made to protect her from contentious on-set situations.
“I had a call with production two days ago during which they told me I have absolutely not been fired from the cast but they chose to pause my filming schedule until next week in order to protect me from situations on set that had become very contentious,” Nicole said. “I’m still debating whether or not I want to continue filming in this kind of environment, especially with so many infuriating double standards.”
The drama reportedly stems from an explosive incident during a cast dinner in November 2024, where tensions between Nicole and Chrishell reached a boiling point. Sources told *TMZ* that the confrontation escalated after Chrishell and costar Emma Hernan arrived at the event, leading to heated exchanges. Days later, Nicole filmed a one-on-one scene with Oppenheim Group co-founder Jason Oppenheim, who suggested she take a step back from the office. Nicole has not filmed any new content since.
Chrishell, 43, has been vocal about her strained relationship with Nicole, even threatening to quit the show if Nicole returned. In a TikTok video posted by *Pedestrian TV* in October 2024, Chrishell said, “At the end of the day, obviously I have very strong feelings about her that I stand 10 toes down on and I don’t take any of that back. I believe every bit of it. However, I am also a businesswoman. I always will be able to change my mind if you add a zero.”
The feud between the two women dates back to season 6, when Nicole accused Chrishell of receiving real estate listings due to her past relationship with Jason Oppenheim. Chrishell countered by alleging Nicole was on drugs during a group dinner, a claim Nicole denied. The tension further escalated in later seasons when Nicole brought up rumors about Emma allegedly sleeping with a married man, which Emma vehemently denied.
Emma, 32, expressed her frustration about the situation in a December 2024 interview with *Us Weekly*, stating, “I wasn’t given a voice in the last season. I had no idea what was being filmed behind my back. I filmed an entire season just trying to be there for one of my best friends [Chelsea] going through one of the most difficult times of her life, and that was taken away by what happened when the show came out and me being blindsided.”
Despite the ongoing drama, *Selling Sunset* remains a fan-favorite series, with season 9 currently in production. The show, which debuted in 2019, follows the high-stakes world of luxury real estate in Los Angeles and the personal and professional lives of the Oppenheim Group agents. Netflix has yet to comment on Nicole’s status or the future of the series.
