Nigerian Air Force Eliminates Kidnap Syndicate In Birnin Gwari

The Nigerian Air Force has successfully eliminated a notorious kidnap syndicate in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State. This accomplishment was made by the Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch, which is actively fighting against terrorism and kidnapping in the North West and North Central regions.

The strike against the syndicate was carried out following a meticulous intelligence report that highlighted their presence along the Kwiga-Kampamin Doka axis. The same syndicate was also responsible for ambushing troops at Kwanan Mutuwa on January 27th and has been involved in numerous attacks and abductions in Birnin Gwari council area.

Upon reaching the suspected location, the Nigerian Air Force conducted a thorough scan and identified a convoy of approximately 15 motorcycles, each carrying at least two armed terrorists.

Subsequently, a precision strike was executed on the syndicate, resulting in the elimination of several terrorists. The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, acknowledged the success of the operation and commended the professionalism displayed by the Component Commander. However, he emphasized the need for sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and kidnapping.

In his statement, Air Marshal Abubakar remarked, ‘While this does not call for celebration on our part, I must commend the professionalism of the crew for patiently trailing the criminals until an appropriate opportunity to strike presented itself. We must keep pushing and striving.’
