Nigerian Army Commences Online Application For Direct Short Service Commission Course 2024

The Nigerian Army (NA) has officially opened the online application for the 2024 Direct Short Service Commission Course (DSSCC). Starting on January 19th, 2024, interested individuals can now apply through the recruitment portal until February 23rd, 2024.

The application is free of charge and open to both civilians and serving military personnel. However, it is important to note that only military personnel sponsored to civil institutions by any of the Services of the Nigerian Armed Forces will be considered.

Applicants must meet certain requirements to be eligible, including a minimum age of 20 and a maximum age of 40. Additionally, the minimum height requirement is 1.65 meters, and applicants must hold a second-class (lower division) grade in their educational qualifications.

To apply, individuals can visit the Nigerian Army’s webpage at recruitment.army.mil.ng and select the DSSC option. After reading the qualification criteria for the DSSC courses, applicants can click on the ‘Apply Now’ button for their preferred qualification and Corps.

During the application process, candidates will be prompted to indicate if they are currently serving or have previously served in the Armed Forces of Nigeria. They should choose the appropriate option and proceed accordingly.

Applicants need to create an account or log in if they already have one. The online form should be filled out, and the following required documents must be uploaded: a passport photograph, educational certificates, evidence of membership of any professional body, certificate of state of origin, birth certificate or age declaration, and NIN/BVN.

Once the application is complete, applicants should print out their online generated photo-slip. The first page of the photo-slip should be signed by the Registrar of any Court of Law, while the second page should be signed by the applicants’ Local Government Chairman/Secretary or a military officer of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel or higher from the applicant’s state of origin.

The next step for successful applicants is to take a written examination at assigned examination centers. At the examination centers, candidates need to present their printed application forms, including the photo-slips, guarantors form, attestation form, etc. If selected, they will proceed to the Selection Board for an interview.

The application deadline for the Direct Short Service Commission Course 2024 is February 23rd, 2024. It is important to submit all applications online before this date.
