Brasília, Brazil — Federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira and comedian Whindersson Nunes surprised fans Saturday by posting a photo together on Instagram after a public feud on social media. Ferreira captioned the image, “The Christian does not raise walls… extends hands. Deep down, we all have the same hunger: the gospel is a beggar showing another where there is bread.”

The reconciliation comes days after a heated exchange between the two, which began on September 11 following a mass shooting in the United States. Nunes responded to a tweet from Ferreira, leading to a clash that saw the deputy calling the comedian a “scoundrel.” In one tweet, Nunes questioned Ferreira’s interpretations of Christianity, pointing out that the faith’s founder, Jesus, was wrongfully crucified.

On September 13, Nunes criticized Ferreira’s call for followers to report comments made by influencer Felipe Neto. He remarked, “Imagine the mission of the deputy you voted for being to make it impossible to enter the U.S. Pathetic,” further escalating the tension. Ferreira retaliated by referencing Nunes’ past relationship.

The feud saw both figures exchanging personal shots, culminating in a comment from Ferreira about not sharing a family photo to avoid worsening Nunes’ mental health. This remark drew ire when some interpreted it as a reference to Nunes’ loss of a child in 2021. Nunes fired back on Twitter, accusing Ferreira of mocking his grief.

Ferreira denied any insinuation, insisting he was simply discussing relationships. As tensions grew, Nunes publicly called for Ferreira to act as a representative for all citizens, not just those who voted for him.

After days of conflict, the posting of the photo hinting at a truce signals a possible end to their contentious back-and-forth.
