Daisy Edgar-Jones, best known for her role as Marianne Sheridan in the acclaimed TV series Normal People, has expressed interest in reprising her character in a potential sequel.

The hit show, based on the novel by Irish author Sally Rooney, starred Edgar-Jones alongside Paul Mescal, who portrayed Connell Waldron, and ignited a global fandom.

Edgar-Jones recently shared her enthusiasm for revisiting the roles, stating, ‘I love those characters. It would be wonderful to explore them again.’

Normal People, which premiered in 2020 on BBC Three in the UK and Hulu in the US, garnered widespread acclaim during the lockdown period, propelling its leads, Edgar-Jones and Mescal, to stardom.

The actress has since ventured into the world of cinema, starring in films such as Fresh and Where the Crawdads Sing, with an upcoming appearance in the highly anticipated movie Twisters alongside Glen Powell.

Meanwhile, Mescal, who received an Oscar nomination for his role in Aftersun, is set to expand his fanbase with an appearance in Gladiator II, the sequel to the iconic film by Sir Ridley Scott.
