North East Postcode Lottery Winners Share £1 Million Jackpot

ASHINGTON, England – Six postcodes in the North East have won significant cash prizes in the People’s Postcode Lottery during the week of March 1 to March 7. Among the winners, residents of North Seaton in Ashington celebrated a remarkable draw that turned four local players into millionaires, each receiving £250,000.
The North East proved particularly fortunate, with four winning postcodes originating from Northumberland. This week’s lottery results culminated in the sharing of £1 million among the local winners.
One of the lucky recipients, Lesley Hogg, expressed her disbelief after discovering she had won £250,000. “I never thought it would happen that we would win this amount of money. This is everything to us, and it couldn’t have come at a better time,” Hogg said.
Hogg and her husband, Robin, shared their joy, stating, “We have just been looking at each other and laughing since finding out I’d won. And I’ve been singing the song.”
In addition to Northumberland, postcodes in Newcastle and North Yorkshire also received £1,000 prizes during this week’s draw, further highlighting the lottery’s impact across the region.
The People’s Postcode Lottery functions as a subscription-based lottery aimed at generating funds for charitable causes while awarding cash prizes to participants. With daily prizes awarded to various postcodes, the lottery includes weekend jackpots of £30,000 for every winning ticket within a postcode, alongside daily £1,000 awards distributed to 20 different postcodes.
Since its inception in 2005, the People’s Postcode Lottery has donated over £950 million to more than 9,000 charities and good causes, ensuring that a minimum of 33% of ticket sales proceeds go to charitable initiatives.
