LOS ANGELES, CA – The new film Now You See Me: Now You Don’t debuted at the top of the box office after a strong opening weekend, collecting $25 million domestically and $36.7 million internationally for a total of $61.7 million.

This box office success pushed it past the 2011 spy thriller Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, which earned $24.1 million in the U.S. at its launch.

As the days progress, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is expected to surpass other films such as Monkey Man, the upcoming action thriller, and Ex Machina, both of which are currently just under $500,000 ahead in earnings.

Alongside Woody Harrelson, the film’s ensemble includes Isla Fisher, Ariana Greenblatt, and rising star Dominic Sessa. Ruben Fleischer, known for his work on Zombieland, directed this installment, while the screenplay was written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, among others.

The film is currently not available for streaming, as it is exclusively showing in theaters. A video-on-demand release won’t occur for a few weeks, allowing box office numbers to stabilize first.

With strong initial earnings, Lionsgate has no plans to remove Now You See Me: Now You Don’t from theaters anytime soon. Fans can also catch the earlier films in the franchise streaming on various platforms.
