NPAN Condoles With Ray Ekpu Over the Death of His Wife

The Newspapers Proprietorsu2019s Association Of Nigeria (NPAN) has expressed condolences to renowned journalist and columnist, Mr Ray Ekpu, following the passing of his wife, Uyai Ray Ekpu. The President of NPAN, Mr Kabiru Yusuf, conveyed the association’s sympathies in a statement issued on April 25, 2024. The demise of Mrs Uyai Ray Ekpu, at the age of 73 after a brief illness, is described as a significant loss in the nation’s societal landscape by NPAN.

Mr Ekpu, a former Editor in Chief/CEO of Newswatch, announced the sad news and highlighted his wife’s professional and personal attributes. NPAN acknowledged the impactful legacy left behind by the late Mrs Ekpu, lauding her distinguished career as a management and training specialist, a seasoned administrator, and a bridge builder.

Mrs Uyai Ray Ekpu served as a senior staff member at the Centre for Management Development (CMD) until her retirement in 2011 as the Acting Director of the Management Education and Training Department. NPAN assured Mr Ray Ekpu and his family of their support during this challenging time and expressed hopes for divine comfort and strength for the bereaved family.
