NYT Connections Daily Hints and Game Insights for November 21
New York, NY
Every day, the NYT Connections game goes live at midnight local time. Before diving into today’s game, let’s recap what happened on Thursday.
For those tracking their Connections streaks, it’s almost the weekend! I missed my chance to see Paul McCartney in town this week, and I slightly regret not purchasing reasonably priced suite tickets. While general ticket prices were high, I have other shows coming up, including my first-ever concert for Papa Roach. The ticket for that show costs about a sixth of what a McCartney concert would. Even though I’m not a devoted fan, I’m looking forward to it. McCartney’s ongoing setlist, which lasts for two and a half hours, is impressive considering his age.
Before proceeding with today’s hints and answers for NYT Connections, I want to highlight our supportive community. We welcome everyone who wants to join us in discussions about the game and other topics. Please feel free to join our cozy corner of the internet.
Now, let’s move to today’s NYT Connections hints and answers for November 21. For those unfamiliar, Connections is a free word game available on the NYT website or Games app. If you subscribe to NYT All Access or Games, you can access the full archive of past games.
In Connections, you’re presented with a grid of 16 words. The goal is to arrange them into four groups of four, based on hidden connections. While there’s only one correct solution, it can include red herrings. Players can guess incorrectly three times but must be careful because four wrong guesses mean game over.
Each group is color-coded: the yellow group is typically the easiest, followed by blue, green, and purple. Players can often find synonyms in yellow and green groups, while blue groups include cultural references and purple groups usually involve some wordplay. Players appreciate the challenge, as the NYT adds elements to keep the game fresh and engaging.
Many players take pride in long win streaks and enjoy the added challenge of achieving a reverse rainbow—correctly guessing the groups in order without mistakes. Remember to take your time!
Today’s word hints will come next, along with one example from each group. Stay tuned for the full answers.
If you’re looking for help with today’s game, remember this is spoiler territory. I noticed that a palindrome group might have been possible, but I didn’t spot enough matching words. However, I easily identified CLOWNFISH and other Pixar characters for the blue group.
While wrapping up the yellow group was tricky for me, I know what awareness ribbons are. A highlight of my current winning streak is at an impressive 265 games. How did you fare today?
I’ll return on Monday with more insights into NYT Connections. Until then, feel free to check out my weekend newsletter!
