Oklahoma Family Victimized by Federal Immigration Raid

Oklahoma City, OK – A mother and her three daughters, all U.S. citizens, experienced a distressing raid by federal immigration agents early Thursday morning. The family had just moved into their new rental home two weeks earlier.
The mother, who wished to be identified only as Marisa, described the incident as humiliating and traumatic. Agents reportedly burst into the rented home, demanding Marisa and her daughters exit without allowing them sufficient time to dress. ‘They wanted me to change in front of all of them,’ she told local station KFOR.
Marisa said the agents claimed to have a search warrant, but it referenced an individual who was not connected to her family. ‘We’re citizens,’ she repeatedly asserted to the officers during the raid. Despite their pleas, the agents ransacked the home, taking phones, laptops, and a considerable amount of cash, identified as the family’s life savings.
The agents identified themselves as members of U.S. Marshals, the FBI, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The U.S. Marshals denied their involvement in the operation, while the FBI acknowledged assisting with the case. ‘I told them before they left, I said you took my phone. We have no money. I just moved here,’ Marisa recounted, expressing her desperation for assistance to care for her children.
The raid is reportedly part of a broader initiative in Oklahoma, termed ‘Operation Guardian,’ aimed at increasing cooperation between state and federal officials on immigration enforcement. Since the Trump administration, there have been growing concerns about improper detentions during immigration raids, affecting those not even targeted for deportation.
As Marisa reflects on the incident, she says the emotional scars from the raid will linger for her and her daughters. ‘You literally traumatized me and my daughters for life,’ she said, adding that they may need professional help to cope with the experience.
