Ola Electric Slashes Prices On S1 Scooter Portfolio; More Affordable Ev Options For Customers

Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Ola Electric, has announced a significant price reduction across its popular S1 scooter range, making electric vehicles more accessible to consumers looking to transition to sustainable transportation options.

The company made this strategic move after carefully considering its cost structure, strong technology capabilities, and eligibility for manufacturing incentives.

The S1 Pro, priced at INR 1,47,499, now stands at INR 1,29,999. The S1 Air has seen a price drop from INR 119,999 to INR 104,999, offering a more affordable yet efficient electric scooter option for customers.

Ola Electric has been recognized as the first Indian electric two-wheeler company to secure a Domestic Value Addition (DVA) certificate under the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, solidifying its commitment to sustainable and locally sourced manufacturing.

Rival firms in the electric vehicle space, such as Ather Energy, Okaya EV, and Bajaj, have also made recent price adjustments to enhance their market competitiveness in the growing EV sector. Companies like Tata Motors and MG Motor have followed suit, lowering prices on their electric vehicle offerings to meet the evolving demands of environmentally conscious consumers.

With ongoing advancements in technology and increased government support for electric mobility initiatives, the reduction in prices across various electric scooter models signals a positive trend towards a more sustainable and cost-effective transport ecosystem in India.
