Olivia Nuzzi Parts Ways with New York Magazine Following Investigation and Personal Controversy
Olivia Nuzzi, a renowned journalist and Washington Correspondent for New York Magazine, has officially ended her association with the publication. This decision comes after a month-long investigation into her contributions during the 2024 election campaign, prompted by her personal relationship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The investigation, conducted by the law firm Davis Wright Tremaine, found no inaccuracies or evidence of bias in Nuzzi’s reporting. Despite these findings, both Nuzzi and the magazine agreed that separation was the most appropriate path forward. Nuzzi has been praised for her exceptional writing skills and her nearly eight-year tenure at the magazine.
Nuzzi’s attorney, Ari Wilkenfeld, stated that she felt “gratified though not surprised” by the conclusions of the investigations, which affirmed the validity of her reporting and confirmed she had committed no wrongdoing. Wilkenfeld highlighted Nuzzi’s critically acclaimed work and her appreciation for the editors, fact-checkers, and readers she worked with during her time at New York Magazine.
The personal relationship that led to this investigation has also drawn attention, particularly given Kennedy’s marriage to actress Cheryl Hines. Hines has spoken about navigating the challenges in her marriage following the revelation of Kennedy’s relationship with Nuzzi.
