Sydney Parramatta Shooting Crime Scene

In the early hours of Monday morning, Tarek Ayoub, a well-known figure in Sydney‘s underworld, was shot dead in what police describe as an execution-style murder.

Police received reports of gunfire just after 3:30 a.m. at a unit block on Harold Street in Parramatta. Upon arrival, they found Ayoub with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics attempted to provide medical assistance, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Superintendent Daniel Doherty of the homicide squad confirmed that Ayoub was targeted by more than one gunman in a premeditated attack. He stated, ‘He lived by the sword and died by the sword,’ noting Ayoub’s known involvement in organised crime.

Ayoub, age 29, was previously linked to several criminal activities, including his conviction related to the death of a teenager, Brayden Dillon, in 2017. Police have stated that Ayoub’s name has emerged in multiple violent crime investigations.

Following the shooting, witnesses reported hearing a rapid series of gunshots. A neighbor recounted, ‘I heard about six shots; it woke us up.’

Fifteen minutes after the shooting, a stolen Audi SUV was discovered engulfed in flames on A’Beckett Street in Granville. Fire and Rescue NSW attended to extinguish the blaze, which posed a threat to nearby homes.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious, and investigators are exploring possible connections between the two incidents. Two men were seen leaving the area of the burning vehicle in a white SUV.

Authorities are appealing for public assistance, specifically requesting any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area, and ask that anyone with information contact police or Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
