Orville Peck Announces New EP ‘Appaloosa’ and Upcoming Rodeo Event
Pioneertown, California – Orville Peck, the acclaimed country artist, is set to release his new EP titled ‘Appaloosa‘ on November 14 via Warner Records. The EP will feature seven tracks, including the now-released single ‘Drift Away,’ a song that captures the feelings of small-town life post-pandemic.
‘Drift Away’ reflects on the struggles and nostalgia of the current era, with Peck singing, ‘Watch the kids ridin’ shotgun roads / In ’21 all the movies closed / High and dry they got nowhere else to go.’ He continues, ‘It’s not about gettin’ out / It’s about lettin’ go, don’t ya know?’ showcasing his distinctive baritone over twangy guitars.
‘Appaloosa’ will also include a collaboration with Noah Cyrus titled ‘Atchafalaya.’ This song continues their creative partnership, following previous successful collaborations such as ‘Love Is a Canyon.’
In addition to his new music, Peck will host his 7th Annual Rodeo from November 14-16 in Pioneertown, California, at the venue Pappy & Harriet’s. This year’s lineup features performances from Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Joy Oladokun, Hurray for the Riff Raff, and Allison Russell among others. Peck is scheduled to perform a different set each day, including a headline show on November 15.
Pek’s last album, ‘Stampede,’ was released last summer and includes a mix of collaborations with notable artists like Willie Nelson and Elton John. Since then, he’s released multiple singles, including a collaboration with Kesha.
Peck, who made his Broadway debut in ‘Cabaret’, is also set to appear in the 2026 film ‘Street Fighter,’ where he plays the character Vega. Fans can look forward to ‘Appaloosa’ later this month, bringing new music and memorable live performances.
