Osceola County Imposes Curfew as Hurricane Milton Approaches

Osceola County has announced the imposition of a countywide curfew in response to the impending effects of Hurricane Milton. The curfew will commence at 8 p.m. on Wednesday and extend through 10 a.m. on Thursday, as declared by county officials. This measure aims to ensure public safety as severe weather conditions are anticipated in the region.

According to the announcement made on Wednesday, the curfew restricts all pedestrian and vehicular movement, as well as standing or parking, during its duration. Exceptions to the curfew include police, fire, and emergency services, alongside individuals traveling to or returning from work. Areas affected by this directive include the cities of St. Cloud and Kissimmee, as confirmed by county authorities.

In related developments, multiple tornado warnings have been issued for areas within Palm Beach County and Treasure Coast as the weather pattern intensifies. Reports indicate that a tornado warning is active for southwestern Palm Beach County, with meteorological observations showing rotation entering from Broward County, presently southwest of Belle Glade, and moving north-northwest.

The National Hurricane Center has released a series of watches and warnings pertinent to the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast regions due to the approaching Hurricane Milton. The issued warnings include a tornado warning for north-central Palm Beach County, southwestern St. Lucie County, southeastern Okeechobee County, and northwestern Martin County. A hurricane warning is in effect for Indian River County, St. Lucie County, and Okeechobee County, while a hurricane watch is announced for Martin County. Additionally, a tropical storm warning has been established for Palm Beach and Martin counties, along with an overarching tornado watch for South Florida.
