LOS ANGELES, CA — Paramount+ has officially renewed the CIA action-drama ‘Lioness‘ for a third season, following a wait of nearly a year since the premiere of Season 2. The confirmation came on October 1, 2025, a decade after Season 2 debuted in October 2024.

Cast members Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman have both starred in and executive produced the show. Previous reports had hinted at a renewal, despite the lack of announcements from the network.

In ‘Lioness,’ Saldaña plays Joe, a CIA officer leading the agency’s Lioness program, which recruits female operatives for undercover work. Throughout the first two seasons, Joe has faced intense challenges both professionally and personally, reflecting the show’s themes of sacrifice and moral conflict.

The series has featured an impressive cast including Morgan Freeman, Michael Kelly, and Laysla De Oliveira. Kidman received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards for her role.

The production of Season 3 will coincide with the unveiling of a new production campus in Fort Worth, Texas, through a partnership involving Sheridan’s company. David Glasser, CEO of 101 Studios, indicated that multiple shows are set to film at the location, with ‘Lioness’ among them.

As for the premiere date of the new season, it has not yet been announced, but it is speculated that production will begin soon, potentially leading to a release in either 2026 or 2027. The earlier seasons of ‘Lioness’ concentrated on intense missions that challenge the characters while exploring real-world issues, such as cartels and terrorism.

With the third season now confirmed, fans eagerly await more news about the series, which has cemented its reputation in the competitive streaming landscape. ‘Lioness’ Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available for streaming on Paramount+.
