Psg Vs Brest 2024

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has continued its triumphant run in Ligue 1 with a confident 3-1 victory over Brest at the Parc des Princes on Saturday. This victory marks the fourth consecutive win for the team under coach Luis Enrique, as they prepare to face Girona next Wednesday in the Champions League.

PSG, facing a Brest team that was 12th in the standings but coming off a significant win against Saint-Etienne, displayed a strong performance despite a few risky moments and passing errors. Before this match, PSG had tallied impressive victories against Le Havre, Montpellier, and Lille, scoring a total of 13 goals contributed by eight different players. With Saturday’s win, they have raised their tally to 16 goals in four matches.

The game started with Brest taking the lead when Franck Honorat was fouled by Nuno Mendes, leading to a penalty successfully converted by Romain Del Castillo. Nonetheless, PSG’s high-pressure tactics soon led to an equalizer before halftime. A recovery by Bradley Barcola found Marco Asensio, whose cross was headed in by Ousmane Dembele.

Dembele, who has been in exceptional form, continued his streak by scoring a brace, bringing his season total to three goals. This marked his third goal in a week, adding to the one he scored in a recent international match against Belgium with the French national team.

Fabian Ruiz also made a significant impact by scoring with a powerful strike, underscoring his return to form. Ruiz, playing his first game since the summer, has been instrumental in the midfield, stepping in as Vitinha and Warren Zaïre-Emery are sidelined with injuries.

Marseille also celebrated a victory, defeating Nice 2-0 in a match filled with festivities at the Stade Velodrome, witnessed by over 65,000 fans. The occasion marked multiple anniversaries for the club and its supporter groups. Despite missing some key players and playing much of the game with ten men after Derek Cornelius was sent off, Marseille maintained their lead with goals from Neal Maupay and Luis Henrique.
