Parshuram Jayanti 2024 was celebrated with deep reverence and enthusiasm across the country. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Mahavishnu took the form of Parshuram, the sixth avatar of Vishnu. Parshuram is known for his iconic axe as his weapon which he used in many legends.

He is considered one of the Chiranjeevis, the immortal beings born on Earth. Parshuram’s birth date coincided with Akshaya Tritiya, a highly auspicious day in Hinduism where all activities are considered fruitful without the need for an auspicious time.

Parshuram, born to the revered sage Jamadagni and his wife Renuka, hails from the lineage of Bhrigu. He is known for his overpowering strength and is attributed to upholding Dharma with valor.

With a fierce temper, Parshuram was feared by Devas and Daityas alike for his prowess. Various Puranas mention his divine presence in different yugas, from Satya Yuga to Dwapar Yuga and even in Kali Yuga.

Among the eight Chiranjeevis, he is believed to still be present on Earth, guiding and protecting humanity in times of need. Parshuram’s association with Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu makes him a revered deity in Hindu mythology.

His tales of destroying the Kshatriya clan twenty-one times to free the Earth from their atrocities are well-known. Parshuram’s dedication to his parents and his penance for liberation from sins are themes echoed in religious scriptures.

On the occasion of Parshuram Jayanti, devotees sent heartfelt greetings and prayers, honoring the divine qualities of Parshuram and seeking his blessings. The festival is marked by rituals, prayers, and remembrance of the significance of Parshuram’s contributions to the world.
