Patriots’ Terrell Williams Diagnosed with Prostate Cancer

Foxborough, MA — New England Patriots defensive coordinator Terrell Williams has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, head coach Mike Vrabel announced during a press conference on Friday.
Williams stepped away from the team earlier this month to address health concerns. Vrabel confirmed that Williams is currently determining his treatment plan and consulting with specialists. “He’s in the process of treatment and meeting with specialists,” Vrabel said. “We want to send our regards and let everybody know publicly that’s what he’s dealing with.”
In Williams’ absence, inside linebackers coach Zak Kuhr has been calling defensive plays for the team. Kuhr emphasized Williams’ importance to the staff and the players. “T is always a big part of what we do,” said Kuhr. “I just want him to know that we’re always thinking about him.”
Williams joined the Patriots this year after spending the previous season as the defensive line coach for the Detroit Lions. He previously coached with Vrabel in Tennessee, where he held the role of defensive line coach for six seasons.
The announcement comes amid speculation surrounding Williams’ health, which has been a topic of concern among fans since he missed significant time during the offseason. Vrabel noted that Williams had missed some of the offseason training activities due to a previously unspecified health issue.
As the Patriots prepare for their upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers, the coaching staff remains focused on supporting Williams during this challenging time.
