Dallas Pedestrian Accident U.s. 75

Dallas, Texas – Traffic on the southbound lanes of U.S. 75 near the Interstate 635 interchange resumed Tuesday evening after an earlier fatal incident involving a pedestrian. The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. when a vehicle struck the pedestrian attempting to cross the highway, Dallas police reported.

According to officials, the southbound lanes were closed for much of the day as investigators worked on the scene. By 6 p.m., traffic returned to normal, as captured by Texas Department of Transportation cameras. However, officers confirmed that the investigation would keep some lanes closed for an indefinite period.

Details regarding the identity of the pedestrian have not been released. The closure and the subsequent investigation caused significant delays, with vehicles being diverted to I-635 shortly after the collision.

This incident is part of a troubling trend, as police recently reminded the public about the dangers of walking on highways. On Sunday, another pedestrian was reportedly struck in a hit-and-run on Interstate 20, urging heightened awareness. Officers state pedestrians should use designated crosswalks and avoid highways entirely.

As officials continue to investigate the latest incident, they encourage anyone with information to come forward.
