Pedro Martinez Calls Vladimir Guerrero Jr. the Yankees’ New Daddy After ALDS Elimination

NEW YORK, NY — Pedro Martinez, the former Red Sox pitcher, dramatically stated that the New York Yankees have a new “daddy” after the Toronto Blue Jays eliminated them from the American League Division Series with a 5-2 victory on Wednesday night. Yelling with glee on an FS1 broadcast, Martinez shared his thoughts hours after the game ended, putting a humorous spin on the Yankees’ defeat.
After the Yankees were ousted in the ALDS, Martinez didn’t hold back. “Now I finally realize who their daddy is,” he said, referring to Blue Jays’ star Vladmir Guerrero Jr. whom he called his godson. “Oh yeah. Vladdy Jr. is their daddy, and that is a fact. Now they don’t have to search anywhere. They just have to look at Vladdy and really say, ‘You my daddy, Vladdy.’”
Guerrero Jr. had a standout series, batting 9-for-17 with three home runs and nine RBIs over four games against the Yankees. Although he did not hit a home run in the elimination game, he managed to get on base twice, contributing effectively to the Blue Jays’ win.
Martinez, who used to play alongside Guerrero Jr.’s father, Vladimir Guerrero Sr. on the Montreal Expos, celebrated Guerrero Jr.’s success enthusiastically. During a lively segment, he and fellow former Red Sox legend David Ortiz chanted “Daaaaaa Yankees lose!”
The Blue Jays will now move forward to play either the Seattle Mariners or the Detroit Tigers for the American League pennant.
Following the Yankees’ defeat, the conversation around their recent performance has intensified, especially with Pedro Martinez’s remarks resonating with both Red Sox and Yankees fans alike.
This marked another disappointing end to a season for the Yankees, who have not won a title since 2009, amid growing frustration from their fans.
