Pink Concert Xcel Energy Center 2024

On Thursday, pop icon Pink delivered a sold-out, electrifying performance at the Xcel Energy Center. Known for her dynamic stage presence, Pink dazzled her audience with a mix of acrobatics and powerful vocals, blending entertainment with resonant messages.

The concert featured signature elements such as pink-themed props including scooters and shopping carts, alongside vibrant costumes and a team of dancers, musicians, and backup singers. Encouraging self-confidence and resilience, Pink engaged with an audience of 15,000, ranging in age and predominantly female, many of whom dressed to celebrate the pop star’s favorite color.

Pink’s performance in Minnesota was part of her ongoing tour promoting her 2023 album “Trustfall.” Unlike last year’s larger scale Summer Carnival Tour, the current concerts are adapted to arena sizes, offering audiences a more intimate experience without compromising on spectacle.

Notably, Pink’s awe-inspiring aerial finale wowed fans as she somersaulted on a harness, adding to her longstanding reputation for integrating physical feats with her music. Observers noted that performing in an arena enabled better appreciation of the lighting, special effects, and band performances, enhancing the overall experience.

The 45-year-old Philadelphia native demonstrated her wide vocal and style range, singing covers like Bob Dylan‘s “Make You Feel My Love” while playing the grand piano, and collaborating virtually with Nate Ruess on “Just Give Me a Reason.” Her versatility was evident as she moved comfortably between barefoot moments to rhinestone-clad high energy acts.

Pink maintained her focus on self-affirmation rather than political themes, avoiding her protest piece “Irrelevant,” which had been featured in previous shows. However, her concert still held emotionally charged messages, especially reflected in her performance of “[Expletive] Perfect.”

Encounters with fans during the concert reinforced Pink’s approachable and authentic persona. Her interaction with a young fan about hair color and anecdotes about her visit to the Mall of America, where she humorously shared experiences of shopping and rescuing a puppy, were highlights that endeared her to the crowd.

In a surprising and humorous nod, Pink delivered a line that stirred laughter, saying she felt like “Olivia Rodrigo‘s drunk aunt.” The show concluded with impressive vocal harmonies and included her daughter Willow Sage Hart in a memorable duet on “Cover Me in Sunshine.”

While the concert, lasting nearly two hours, ended just shy of 11 p.m., drawing some concern from parents with young children in attendance, the performance was widely praised by audiences.
