Police Arrest Man with Fentanyl After Traffic Stop in Alliance

ALLIANCE, Neb. — A man wanted for violating a protection order was arrested by local police during a traffic stop on April 7, 2025. Sergeant Tim Peterson of the Alliance Police Department initiated the stop near West 10th Street and Ramblin Road after identifying passenger Colton Williamson, 28, with an active warrant.
Upon the vehicle safely stopping, officers apprehended Williamson without incident. They included Officer Dani Campbell and Officer Parker Dahlberg, who assisted in the arrest.
While searching the area where Williamson had been seated, officers discovered a fentanyl pill. Further investigation revealed that Williamson had discarded several additional pills out of the vehicle’s window as it slowed down. In total, law enforcement recovered 19 additional fentanyl pills believed to have been thrown from the vehicle prior to the arrest, thanks to a coordinated effort with the WING Task Force.
At the time of his apprehension, Williamson was out on bond for a separate drug-related case. He was booked into the Box Butte County Jail, facing multiple charges including felony possession of a controlled substance and felony tampering with evidence.
The ongoing investigation by the Alliance Police Department highlights the dangers of fentanyl, a substance known for its potentially lethal effects. Authorities caution the community to remain vigilant against illegal drug activity and encourage citizens to report any suspicious behavior. Tips can be submitted anonymously and may significantly aid local law enforcement.
“Fentanyl is extremely dangerous, and even a small amount can be deadly,” Sergeant Peterson urged. “Together, we can continue to build a safer and healthier Alliance.”
