Police Hunt for Suspect in Alkali Attack
Scotland Yard is on the hunt for a suspect in an alkali attack that left a young woman and her toddler with potentially life-changing injuries. The Metropolitan police have identified the suspect as Abdul Ezedi, a man with significant facial injuries. Police have warned the public not to approach him if spotted.
The attack occurred in Clapham, London, on Wednesday when the victims were doused in an alkaline substance. The woman and her three-year-old child are currently in stable condition at the hospital. Witnesses reported a horrific scene, with the woman screaming for help as her children cried out in distress.
Ezedi, who was last seen at a Tesco Express shop on Caledonian Road, is considered dangerous and potentially armed. The police have alerted other forces in case he attempts to flee London, particularly back to his hometown in Newcastle. Ezedi was previously convicted of a sex offense in 2018 and later granted asylum.
The police released CCTV footage of Ezedi at the Tesco shop, showing his distinctive injuries to his right eye. They have called on the public for any information that may lead to his arrest.
The investigation is ongoing, and the public is urged to remain cautious and report any sightings or information to the authorities immediately.
