Chellow Dene Reservoir Bradford Search

The Chellow Dene Reservoir, located in Allerton, Bradford, has been temporarily closed as authorities conduct a search operation for a missing teenager. The decision to close off the area, including its car park, footpaths, and surrounding grounds, was announced by Bradford Council due to ‘police activity in the area’ commencing around 2:39 p.m. today.

The search efforts are specifically aimed at locating Zakir Muhammad Mughal, a 15-year-old from Bradford who was reported missing earlier this week. West Yorkshire Police have confirmed ongoing searches in the vicinity of the reservoir as part of their investigation into Zakir’s disappearance. According to the police, the last confirmed sighting of Zakir was in the Chellow Dene area around midnight, between Tuesday and Wednesday.

Zakir Muhammad Mughal is described as a young Asian male, approximately 5 feet tall, with a skinny build and dark brown hair. At the time of his last sighting, he was reportedly wearing a black tracksuit and a North Face jacket. The police have made an appeal to Zakir to contact either his family or the authorities to confirm his safety and well-being. Meanwhile, the public has been urged to provide any information that might assist in finding him.

The police have requested that any tips regarding Zakir’s whereabouts be directed to them through the contact options available on the West Yorkshire Police website or by calling the non-emergency number 101. In the case of current sightings, individuals are advised to immediately use the emergency number 999.

A spokesperson for the council has assured the public that an update regarding the reopening of the Chellow Dene Reservoir will be provided once the police activities are concluded. ‘Due to police activity in the area, the car park, footpaths and grounds around Chellow Dene Reservoirs are currently closed to members of the public. We will update when they are to be reopened,’ said the spokesperson.
