Police Service Commission Promises Merit-Based Recruitment for Shortlisted Candidates
The Police Service Commission (PSC), under the leadership of Chairman Solomon Arase, has assured the 171,956 shortlisted candidates for the Nigerian Police Force recruitment of a merit-based process. The Head of Media and Publicity, Ikechukwu Ani, confirmed that successful applicants are progressing to the next stage, involving a Computer-Based Test.
According to Ani, the Commission is dedicated to maintaining equal representation in line with the Federal Character Commission‘s requirements. The upcoming Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) Computer Based Test is scheduled for March 5th and 6th, 2024, across all states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Dr. Solomon Arase, a retired Inspector General of Police and current PSC Chairman, reiterated the commitment to upholding meritocracy in the recruitment process. The selection process from screening to testing will adhere to the stated guidelines.
The 171,956 shortlisted applicants are undergoing preparations for the CBT exams, with the Commission ensuring transparency and fairness. Arase commended the Police Recruitment Board for their diligence and pledged the Commission’s appreciation for their contributions to the national task.
As successful candidates await the testing phase, they are advised to verify their status on the recruitment portal and confirm their exam schedule. This recruitment drive aims to bolster the police force with additional manpower to combat crime effectively.
Meanwhile, the specialists cadre comprising 43,778 successful applicants will soon undergo practical evaluations, with details of the assessments to be communicated in due course.
