DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County police are investigating a possible shootout that occurred at a McDonald’s Friday morning, May 30, 2025.

Officers responded to the scene at the fast food restaurant located in the 2700 block of Panola Road. They taped off the drive-thru window as part of their investigation.

Channel 2’s Steve Gehlbach reported that he observed a car with multiple gunshot holes in its front windshield. A witness told him that another vehicle pulled up to the drive-thru and opened fire on the car ahead of them.

DeKalb County Police detectives interviewed two men from the car that was shot at. They also checked surveillance cameras from the McDonald’s and collected shell casings found both inside the restaurant and outside on the ground.

As of now, police have not released any details regarding the shooter or the vehicle involved. They are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
