Downed Power Lines Austin Texas 2025

AUSTIN, Texas — Fallen power lines on Monday morning caused significant traffic disruptions at the intersection of E Stassney Lane and Nuckols Crossing Road. The incident forced the closure of traffic in both eastbound and westbound directions on Stassney Lane, creating delays for commuters during the morning rush hour.

Authorities have urged drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. The cause of the downed power lines remains under investigation, with no immediate reports of injuries or property damage. Austin Energy crews were dispatched to the scene to assess and repair the damage.

“We are working as quickly as possible to restore power and clear the area,” said a spokesperson for Austin Energy. “Safety is our top priority, and we ask for the public’s patience while we address the situation.”

The incident comes amid a winter storm warning for the CBS Austin area, which has raised concerns about additional weather-related disruptions. The National Weather Service has forecasted the potential for accumulating snow and sleet, with icing risks primarily south of the region.

Residents are advised to monitor local news and official updates for further information on road conditions and power restoration efforts.
