Powerball Jackpot Reaches $719 Million After No Winner on Wednesday Night
New Delhi, India — The Powerball jackpot has soared to $719 million after no tickets matched the winning numbers drawn on Wednesday night. This makes it the third biggest lottery prize of 2025 to date.
The numbers drawn were 7, 8, 15, 19, 28, and the Red Powerball 3. If a winner emerges in the next drawing on Saturday night, they will have the option to take the full $719 million in 30 annual installments or a one-time cash payment of $333.3 million.
Most winners prefer the lump-sum option, but it comes with significant tax deductions. After a mandatory federal withholding of 24%, the lump-sum payout drops to approximately $253.3 million. Depending on the winner’s tax situation, the effective payout could decrease further, potentially as low as $210 million.
In contrast, those who opt for the installment plan would receive about $24 million annually. However, after applying a federal marginal rate of 37%, the annual payments would be reduced to approximately $15.1 million.
Winners should also consider state taxes, which vary widely. For example, New York taxes lottery winnings at 10.9%, while states like Texas, Florida, and California do not impose state taxes on lottery earnings.
The next drawing is eagerly awaited, with millions hoping to cash in on this massive jackpot.
