A tragic incident occurred in Oklahoma City early on November 2, 2024, when a pregnant woman was killed in a wrong-way crash on Lake Hefner Parkway. According to the Oklahoma City Police, the accident happened between the exits for Hefner and Britton.

The head-on collision resulted in the closure of the road for at least an hour. The pregnant woman, whose name has not been released, was taken to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities have stated that the wrong-way driver is currently under investigation for driving under the influence (DUI).
