Prince Edward And Sophie Mock Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Over Oprah Interview Drama

Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, the Queen‘s youngest son and his spouse respectively, made light of the ongoing drama surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been involved in public back-and-forth with the Royal family since stepping down from their senior royal positions.

The couple’s revelations during the Oprah interview in 2021, including allegations of discussions about son Archie‘s skin colour and financial cutoff, had a significant impact on the royal members.

Responding to questions about the controversial interview, Prince Edward responded with a humorous, ‘Oprah, who?’ to play down the situation, while Sophie joked, ‘What interview?’

This exchange came after reports surfaced that Meghan declined support from Princess Sophie in adjusting to royal life after her marriage to Prince Harry.

Gyles Brandreth, in his book ‘Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait’, mentioned that the Queen had suggested Sophie Wessex as a mentor for Meghan to help her navigate the royal responsibilities.

Despite Meghan’s refusal to seek Sophie’s guidance, the Palace issued a statement in response to the Oprah interview, expressing sadness about the challenges faced by Harry and Meghan and the seriousness with which issues raised in the interview, especially concerning race, were being taken.

The statement from the Buckingham Palace assured that Harry, Meghan, and Archie will always be cherished family members amidst the ongoing rift with the Royal family.
