Protest In Bournemouth Draws Hundreds

A large protest took place in Bournemouth yesterday evening, attracting hundreds of people.

Protesters gathered around the Roundhouse Hotel on Meyrick Road, while officers from the police were present to help manage the scene.

The gathering started at around 11pm in the Lansdowne area, where assistant chief constable Mark Callaghan, who was leading the operation, stated that they facilitated a safe and legal protest involving approximately 160 individuals.

Mark also acknowledged the community’s concerns regarding potential disorder and emphasized that they acted quickly to minimize disruption to residents, visitors, and local businesses.

According to him, the vast majority of attendees behaved lawfully, and while there were no arrests made, one person received a legal order to leave the area for 12 hours.

He commended their specially trained officers for maintaining public safety while dealing with the protest, highlighting that they are prepared for any potential outbreaks of disorder.

This was not the only demonstration recently, as officers managed protests in Weymouth just the previous Sunday as well.

Mark Callaghan reassured the public that they would continue working with partners to respond to protest activities and ensure community safety.

In a different note, the English Oak Vineyard located in Lychett Matravers was recognized for its beauty, ranking as the sixth most beautiful vineyard in Europe.
