PSL Coach Duncan Lechesa Resigns After Three Matches
Venda Football Club, competing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, has confirmed the resignation of their head coach, Duncan Lechesa. The announcement comes after a disappointing start to the 2024/25 season, where the team has managed only one point from their first three matches, placing them in 15th position.
Lechesa’s departure was officially announced by the club on Wednesday, with an official statement confirming his immediate resignation. “Venda Football Club wishes to announce the resignation of its head coach Duncan Lechesa with immediate effect,” the statement read. The club expressed their gratitude to Lechesa and wished him success in his future endeavors.
Rowan Hendricks has been appointed to manage the team on an interim basis. “In the meantime, coach Rowan Hendricks will take over in an acting capacity until further notice,” the club stated.
Duncan Lechesa had been leading Venda Football Club since November 2023. He joined the team following his departure from Polokwane City and has been with the club for nearly a year before stepping down.
