Quan Hongchan Dominates Women's 10m Platform Diving At Paris 2024

In an exciting event at the Paris 2024 Olympics, China’s Quan Hongchan has successfully defended her title in the women’s 10-meter platform diving competition, adding another gold medal to her impressive collection.

Quan set the tone right from her very first dive by scoring a perfect 10 from all seven judges. The crowd, filled with her fellow Chinese supporters, erupted into cheers as she performed a forward 3 1/2 somersaults, showcasing her incredible skills and making her mark in the competition.

Following closely behind her was teammate Chen Yuxi, who took home the silver medal, replicating their finish from the Tokyo Olympics just a few years earlier.

North Korea‘s Kim Mi Rae earned the bronze medal, marking a historic moment for the country as it was their first-ever Olympic medal in diving. Kim had previously won a silver in women’s 10-meter synchronized diving earlier in the competition.

Quan’s score tallied up to 425.60 over five dives, while Chen finished at 420.70. Canadian diver Caeli McKay placed fourth with a score of 364.50.

This win continues China’s impressive streak in diving, as they have now secured five gold medals at these games. The two Chinese athletes had already proven their dominance earlier by winning the 10-meter synchronized event together.

Unfortunately, the U.S. team did not qualify for the finals, with Delaney Schnell unable to advance past the semifinals and Daryn Wright falling short in the preliminary rounds.
