A quarter-acre brush fire broke out north of Santa Clarita on Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of San Francisquito Canyon Road and Dry Gulch Road, according to officials from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 33000 block of San Francisquito Canyon Road at approximately 3:52 p.m. and arrived at the scene within three minutes, said Howard Tiu, a spokesman for the Fire Department. The fire, initially reported to be a quarter of an acre in size, had its forward progress stopped by 4:10 p.m., though Tiu could not confirm the exact time.

No structures were threatened, and no injuries were reported as of the latest update. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and Tiu could not provide immediate details on how it started.
