Radio Host Ken Bruce Refuses To Play Taylor Swift's Music

Radio legend Ken Bruce has recently stirred the pot by declaring that he won’t be playing any of Taylor Swift’s music on his show. During an interview with the Mail On Sunday, Bruce, who is known for hosting a daily show featuring hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, was quite vocal about his stance.

He claimed, “all her songs are the same,” and added that he’ll only consider playing her music once she writes something that isn’t about her ex-boyfriends. He also criticized her song structure, saying that great radio songs get right into the action without long intros.

Bruce further explained that Swift’s style just doesn’t fit with his station’s focus, as the core audience is older and tends to enjoy music from the last century, although they do touch on music from the early 2000s and 2010s but mostly from the biggest names.

Since these comments hit the airwaves, Swift’s dedicated fans, known as Swifties, have taken to social media to express their disappointment. Many have pointed out that Bruce seems out of touch and has not fully appreciated the depth of Swift’s music, especially given that male artists often write about their relationships as well.

Some fans criticized Bruce for making dismissive comments about Taylor’s lyrics, accusing him of inappropriately focusing on her personal life. One user remarked, “Leave it to an old white man to be completely out of touch….. shocker.”

In the meantime, Taylor Swift is in the spotlight for her ongoing Eras tour, which includes several performances at Wembley Stadium later this month, showcasing her incredible range as an artist.
