Radio Presenter Sian Welby Joins This Morning as New Co-Host
Radio presenter Sian Welby has been announced as the new co-host of ITV‘s popular show This Morning. Welby will join Dermot O’Leary to fill the gap left by Holly Willoughby, who departed last year.
Sian Welby, aged 37, is a television presenter and radio host from Nottingham. She has worked for various broadcasting networks including ITV, Channel 4, BBC, and Channel 5. Currently, Welby co-hosts the Capital Breakfast radio show alongside Roman Kemp and Chris Stark. She previously hosted her own radio show on Heart.
Welby became well-known as the lead weather presenter on Channel 5 and also appeared on CBBC’s Saturday Mash Up with Sonny Jay. Apart from her radio work, she has made a mark in the television industry. In an impressive feat, she broke the Guinness World Record in 2021 for recognizing the most sounds in a minute.
The news of Sian Welby joining This Morning was confirmed by the show’s official account on Instagram. A photo of Welby and Dermot O’Leary was shared, announcing their debut as co-hosts on Monday at 10 am on ITV1, ITVX, and STV.
Sian Welby expressed her disbelief at the news, saying, “This news is about me and even I don’t believe it!”
This Morning, hosted by Dermot O’Leary and Sian Welby, airs on weekdays at 10 am on ITV1 and ITVX.
