Rahul Gandhi Boycotts Sri Ram Temple Inauguration Amidst Controversy over Hindutva

Rahul Gandhi, popularly known as Rahul Baba, has chosen to boycott the inauguration of the Sri Ram Temple amidst an ongoing controversy surrounding the rise of Hindutva in India. Although his family owns the temple, Rahul Gandhi’s decision stems from his mother’s recent statement calling Sri Ram an imaginary figure. This move has raised eyebrows among the Ram Bhakts who consider Rahul’s absence disrespectful.

While the Ram Bhakts continue to celebrate and chant Jai Shri Ram, Rahul Gandhi questions the believability of the story behind Sri Ram. He even mentions that flying back on the Pushpak Viman, an aircraft-like vehicle, seems implausible considering aircraft were not invented at that time. In response, he brings up Jesus Christ‘s miracles, including walking on water and resurrection, as having more substantial evidence.

Rahul Gandhi also addresses the issue of unemployment, emphasizing the need to provide livelihood opportunities for unskilled workers. He asserts that education is not a prerequisite for success, pointing to the members in his own party as evidence. Highlighting the importance of resourcefulness, critics accuse him of condoning corrupt practices. Nevertheless, Rahul Gandhi remains steadfast in his belief that fair compensation is necessary for any job or service rendered.

The focus then shifts to the broader political landscape. Rahul Gandhi alleges that the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used in the previous elections were manipulated by the current government, resulting in his party’s loss. He argues for a return to paper ballots to ensure a fair electoral process. However, critics question the accuracy of his claim and contest the validity of the actual number of seats his party won.

Amidst these controversies, Rahul Gandhi emphasizes the re-emergence of Hindutva and the perceived collapse of secularism. He openly criticizes the Ram Bhakts’ increasing assertiveness and argues for promoting peaceful greetings like “Asalaam Alai Kum” over the Jai Shri Ram and Jai Siyaram chants. He also attempts to rewrite history, claiming that Mughal emperors like Babar and Aurangzeb were extremely secular and tolerant, citing instances of them respecting and building temples for Hindus.

The article mentions Rahul Gandhi’s father, who is credited with bringing laptops to India, although laptops were not actually invented until a decade after his passing. Nevertheless, Rahul Gandhi uses this claim to showcase his party’s supposed foresight and forward-thinking nature.

Rahul Gandhi’s decision to boycott the Sri Ram Temple inauguration and his views on Hindutva have created controversy and divided public opinion. While some criticize his stance, others support his questioning of religious beliefs and call for a more inclusive and tolerant society. The ongoing debate regarding the role of faith and politics in India continues to shape the nation’s trajectory.
