The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have announced an extension for the application deadlines pertaining to the Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) recruitment for the year 2024. This extension provides prospective applicants additional time to apply for available positions under both the undergraduate and graduate categories within the organization.

Candidates interested in applying for the undergraduate posts can do so until October 27, 2024. Meanwhile, those aiming for graduate posts must submit their applications by October 20, 2024. The recruitment drive is seeking to fill a total of 11,558 vacancies, with 3,445 designated for undergraduate-level positions and 8,113 for graduate-level roles.

Eligibility criteria dictate that candidates must possess the necessary educational qualifications specific to the post they are applying for. Positions such as Goods Train Manager, Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, and Station Master require candidates to hold a graduate degree from a recognized university or its equivalent. For junior-level positions like Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk, and Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, candidates need to have completed the 12th standard or its equivalent and possess typing proficiency in either Hindi or English.

Alongside the NTPC recruitment details, the Railway Recruitment Boards have disclosed the examination schedule for other crucial positions. In a separate notice released on October 7, 2024, the examination dates for Junior Engineers (JE), Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP), RPF Sub-Inspector (SI), and Technician posts were revealed. The RRB JE (Computer Based Test 1) is scheduled to occur from December 6 to December 13, 2024, covering vacancies such as Junior Engineers, Depot Material Superintendents (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistants (CMA).

The ALP examination is set for November 25 to November 29, 2024, while the RPF SI examination will occur from December 2 to December 5, 2024. Technician post examinations will follow from December 16 to December 22, 2024. Each examination will feature two CBTs followed by a document verification process and medical examination. The Computer Based Tests will implement a negative marking scheme, deducting one-third of the allotted mark for every incorrect answer.
