Susquehanna Valley Rain Forecast

HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania — Rain began moving into the Susquehanna Valley Friday evening, bringing with it the potential for heavy showers overnight. Meteorologist Ethan Huston noted that the rain would be widespread, with temperatures hovering in the mid-40s.

Visibility was reduced in areas like Lancaster and Lewistown due to patchy fog accompanying the rain. As the storm system, which extends from the Ohio River Valley, makes its way east, residents should expect on-and-off periods of rain throughout the night.

On Saturday morning, the rain is expected to taper off, particularly as a cold front passes through around midday. Total rainfall amounts for the event could range from 0.20 inches to as much as 0.35 inches. By afternoon, drier air will move in, likely bringing some breaks of sunshine.

High temperatures on Saturday are forecasted to reach around 50 degrees. Sunday is expected to be much drier and sunnier with highs in the low to mid-50s, providing a pleasant end to the weekend.

Looking ahead, the forecast indicates that more rain will return by Tuesday into Wednesday, potentially affecting Thanksgiving travel plans. Afterward, temperatures are predicted to drop significantly, with highs falling into the 40s for the holiday.
