Rain on the Horizon: Showers Expected Thursday and Friday

San Diego, California – A wave of light rain is set to sweep through San Diego County starting tomorrow, following a gray morning today. Residents can expect a mix of light showers Thursday morning, with steady rainfall anticipated on Friday.
The weather is currently impacted by a marine layer, resulting in low clouds and occasional mist. However, temperatures this morning are mild, with most areas ranging from the mid to upper 50s until late morning. By the afternoon, clearer skies are expected across the region, though temperatures will remain cool.
The coastal areas will reach highs between 60 to 63 degrees, while inland communities are projected to see temperatures between 62 to 65 degrees. Mountain temperatures will remain cooler, with highs around 55 to 62 degrees, and desert regions may see warmer conditions reaching 76 to 83 degrees due to a lack of cloud cover.
Wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour are forecasted in mountainous and desert areas, potentially raising dust and reducing visibility in those regions. As the trough of low pressure moves into the area, light morning showers will lead into a brief afternoon lull before more rain arrives later in the evening.
Friday is expected to bring the bulk of the rainfall, with totals likely around 0.10 inches along the coast and up to a quarter-inch inland. The mountainous areas could see nearly a half-inch of precipitation, while the deserts are expected to remain dry.
As the rain clears over the weekend, temperatures are forecast to rise by about 10 degrees from Friday to Saturday, making for ideal Easter conditions with sunny and warm weather on the horizon.
For Wednesday, here are the expected highs: Coast 60-63°, Inland 62-65°, Mountains 55-62°, Deserts 76-83°.
