New Jersey Weather Forecast Memorial Day

Trenton, New Jersey — Central and South Jersey residents should prepare for a wet week leading into Memorial Day weekend. After a mostly dry start, showers are set to return Wednesday, bringing chilly temperatures and rain.

The rain is expected to begin during the morning commute. Initially light, the showers will become steady and more widespread by mid-morning, making for a soggy day. The heaviest rain is forecasted to arrive overnight into Thursday morning, with conditions remaining wet throughout.

Winds from the northeast will contribute to the chilly weather, with sustained winds of 10 to 20 miles per hour and gusts up to 30 miles per hour. On Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures are projected to linger in the mid to low 50s, significantly below the average for this time of year.

As the week progresses, the weather will gradually improve. By Friday, lingering showers may still occur, but overall conditions will start to dry out. With high temperatures edging up into the 60s, it will still feel cooler compared to typical late-May warmth.

The weekend forecast includes highs in the 60s for Saturday and Sunday, with Memorial Day expected to reach the low 70s. While Monday might not be perfect beach weather, it is projected to be the nicest day of the weekend.

Despite the steady rain during the week, many may find luck with dry conditions over the weekend, offering opportunities for outdoor activities.
