Rainy Weather Forecast April 2025

NEW YORK, NY – April 5, 2025 – Residents preparing for their weekend plans should anticipate steady light showers beginning this afternoon. Rain is expected to start around 11 a.m. and continue on and off through the evening, setting up a chilly weekend.

As temperatures hover near 50°F this afternoon, a cold front on Monday morning will sweep through, ushering in significantly cooler temperatures. Following the front, afternoon highs for the week are predicted to struggle, with some days potentially not reaching 50°F.

Weather experts recommend taking advantage of the early morning hours today when conditions will remain dry with temperatures in the mid-50s. An east breeze at 10-20 mph is expected to develop late this morning, bringing with it the anticipated light showers.

Tomorrow morning could start off foggy, with ongoing rain showers. However, clearer skies are likely to emerge by the afternoon with some peeks of sunshine, although a stray shower may still occur. Temperatures are expected to rise from the mid-40s in the morning to the mid-50s by afternoon.

Looking ahead to Monday, persistent rain overnight into Sunday could linger into the morning commute. While rain should diminish later in the day, cloudy skies and lingering fog may complicate travel. Evening temperatures on Monday are forecasted to remain cool.

Tuesday and Wednesday are poised to be the coldest days in the past two weeks, with morning temperatures possibly falling into the 30s. Daytime highs will barely reach 50°F. Wednesday morning’s temperatures are anticipated to dip below freezing, prompting warnings for gardeners. Hardy plants like pansies and primrose should tolerate the cold, but tender plants may need to be brought indoors.

The forecast suggests a possible warm-up by the end of next week, with rain returning on Friday and Saturday, accompanied by a rebound in temperatures that may reach the 60s early next week.
