Rapper Shebeshxt Survives Near Fatal Car Accident In Limpopo

Popular South African rapper, Shebeshxt, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Chauke, narrowly escaped death in a car accident that took place in Limpopo on Tuesday, 30 January. The controversial artist took to his social media account to share images of his wrecked car, expressing his gratitude for a second chance at life. With the caption, ‘Otherwise, ‘ke rata kereke I’m blessed by G.O.D!’ Thank you Lord!’

Concerns for Shebeshxt’s safety had already been raised earlier in the month when he posted on Instagram claiming that hitmen had been hired to assassinate him. He requested prayers from his fans, and videos from various spiritual figures warning him of people plotting against him surfaced online. A sangoma, Mkhulu Qheba, even claimed to have had a vision of a woman putting muti in Shebeshxt’s food. As news of the accident spread, fans and well-wishers flooded social media with messages of support.

Shebeshxt rose to fame in 2022 with the release of his hit song, ‘Kedi Hit Malume,’ and has since collaborated with renowned artists such as DJ Maphorisa and Dr Malinga. However, before his music career took off, Shebeshxt was involved in criminal activities, which he openly admits. He attributed his past actions to the need to provide for his child. In an interview, he shared details about shoplifting, mugging, and other illegal activities he engaged in to make money.

The car accident took place in Polokwane, according to Polokwane Municipality’s Superintendent, Mphago Kgaugelo. Two vehicles were involved in the collision, and Shebeshxt reportedly sustained minor injuries. He is currently hospitalized but is expected to make a full recovery.
