Sheff G Rapper Court Case

NEW YORK – Brooklyn rapper Michael Williams, known professionally as Sheff G, pleaded guilty to attempted murder and conspiracy charges related to a violent gang conspiracy on March 26, 2025. The plea comes after a lengthy investigation by the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Violent Criminal Enterprises Bureau and the NYPD’s Gun Violence Suppression Division.

Williams, 26, accepted a court-offered sentence of five years in prison along with five years of post-release supervision. Prosecutors had advocated for a 20-year sentence, but Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Danny Chun granted the plea deal amid objections from the District Attorney’s office.

The case is part of a sweeping 140-count indictment involving a total of 32 alleged members of the 8 Trey Crips and 9 Ways gangs. The charges arise from a broader investigation into gang-related violence in Brooklyn, which allegedly included multiple shootings and the use of social media to flaunt illegal activities.

Seventeen other defendants in the case have already pleaded guilty, while cases involving additional individuals, including fellow rapper Tegan Chambers, known as Sleepy Hallow, remain pending. Williams reportedly coordinated and transported shooters to crime scenes and acted as a getaway driver for various incidents, according to court filings.

“Notoriety could not shield this defendant from justice. He used his fame to fund and direct violence, terrorizing our streets,” said Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez. “Brooklyn will not tolerate gangs that endanger our communities, and we remain committed to dismantling these criminal networks.”

The indictment stems from violent acts linked to the 8 Trey Crips and included a notorious mass shooting on October 21, 2020, where 23-year-old Theodore Senior was killed and five others were injured. Prosecutors allege that Williams celebrated the attack and gifted a custom gold chain to a co-conspirator in recognition of their actions.

Williams was free on bail in May 2023 when he appeared on stage with former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in the Bronx. The rapper’s involvement with Trump has since raised eyebrows given the legal troubles surrounding both figures.

As the investigation continues, Williams is scheduled for formal sentencing on August 13, 2025. More than a dozen co-defendants are still awaiting trial in connection to this extensive gang-related case.
