Reports have surfaced stating that Ratan Tata, the chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, is in critical condition and currently receiving treatment in an intensive care unit in a Mumbai hospital. The information was initially reported by Reuters, which cited two anonymous sources on Wednesday.

Contradicting these claims, the 86-year-old industrialist released a statement on Monday asserting that he was merely undergoing routine medical check-ups due to his age-related conditions. “I am currently undergoing medical check-ups due to my age-related medical conditions,” Tata noted in his statement. He also reassured the public and media that there is “no cause for concern” and requested that they refrain from “spreading misinformation.”

Business Today and other media outlets have stated that they could not independently verify the claims regarding his critical condition. As of now, no official update on Tata’s current health status has been provided by his representatives.

Ratan Tata’s name is synonymous with India’s industrial prowess, having led the Tata Group, one of the country’s largest and most influential conglomerates, for many years. His apparent health issues have thus garnered significant public interest and concern.
