Allentown, PA — Consumers are urged to check their pantries for MadeGood granola bars that have been recalled due to potential metal contamination. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a Class II recall on December 9, 2024, affecting approximately 2,408,883 cases of the product.
MadeGood notified customers that there is a “very small risk” some granola bars produced between January and November 2024 may contain metal fragments. To date, no injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
The recall encompasses various flavors including chocolate chip, strawberry, mixed berry, and cookies and cream. The company is strongly advising consumers not to consume the granola bars and to return them to the stores from where they were purchased for a complete refund. The stores will subsequently destroy the returned products.
“We have conducted a thorough investigation into the source of this issue and have identified and corrected the problem,” a MadeGood spokesperson stated. The company aims to ensure that such an incident does not occur in the future.
The recall comes as part of ongoing efforts to maintain food safety in the market, with customers encouraged to stay informed about product safety alerts. Those with questions or concerns about the recall can reach out to MadeGood directly for further assistance.
