Red Lobster Ditches $20 Endless Shrimp, Unveils New Menu with Fan Favorites and Holiday Drinks
Red Lobster, the popular seafood restaurant chain, has announced significant changes to its menu, marking the end of its $20 endless shrimp promotion and the return of several fan-favorite dishes. The decision comes after the endless shrimp deal led to an operating loss of over $11 million in the third quarter of 2023, prompting the company to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to restructure.
The new menu, available at all 545 Red Lobster locations nationwide, includes seven new items such as Lobster Pappardelle Pasta, Bacon Wrapped Sea Scallops, Lobster Bisque, Lemon Basil Mahi, Simply Prepared Mahi, Parmesan-Crusted Chicken, and Roasted Asparagus. Additionally, Popcorn Shrimp and Hush Puppies, two highly popular items that were previously discontinued, are now back on the menu.
Red Lobster is also introducing a new “Create your Own Ultimate Feast” option, allowing customers to customize their meals by mixing and matching two premium options, such as Maine Lobster Tail or Snow Crab Legs, with two classic items like Walt’s Favorite Shrimp or Garlic Shrimp Scampi.
In time for the holiday season, Red Lobster has added limited-time beverages to its menu, including Snowglobe Sangria, Ruby Mule, and Mocha Espresso Martini. These changes are part of the company’s efforts to “course correct” under new ownership and leadership, following recent court approval to exit bankruptcy.
